Assuming that you think being a gamer is somewhat socially acceptable, or even “cool”, this article will be helpful for you.
Becoming a gamer is not like getting a degree. There are no concrete rules that you need to follow, no one is going to evaluate you. And as far as I know, there is no universal checklist for this.
But in my opinion, there are a few games that will put me on the right track to become a gamer.
Mobile
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds - Mobile
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was a very popular battle royale game to ever grace the market.
A bunch of people getting dropped on an island to fend for themselves is an interesting premise as it is. But the teamwork, strategy involved (except for the campers of course) put PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on the map.
The mobile counterpart of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is nearly identical. It has the same guns, maps, and vehicles.
Your shooting skills and critical thinking can play a huge part in high-rank lobbies. So as far mobile games go, this is a very popular game to start with.
Call of Duty - Mobile
Call of Duty entered the race a little late compared to its counterpart(PUBG). However, that doesn’t mean that it’s not as good as PUBG.
A lot of people may disagree with me but despite entering the mobile market a little later, Call of Duty mobile has shaped up to be a pretty solid game.
I prefer Call of Duty’s multiplayer mode but I must admit that the Battle Royale mode needs a little work to be on par with PUBG.
Alto’s Odyssey
Alto’s Odyssey is one of the most beautiful and relaxing games created for mobile.
It may not be the flashiest game out there. There’s no skill other than your eyesight and reflexes at play here. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find that gamer satisfaction after a long ski-run.
Console
God of War
God of War is Console at its finest. Playing this game on a big screen and decent sound system will be one of the best experiences of your life.
I’m sure you know how widely praised this game is. The cinematics, the characters, the story, and of course the combat is something that you need to experience to truly appreciate.
Playing the previous games will give you an in-depth knowledge of the game’s storyline and also Kratos himself. I would recommend that you do play the previous games but you can enjoy this one without doing so.
The Last of Us
The Last of Us is essentially a literarymasterpiece. You truly lose yourself in this post-apocalyptic America. The world itself is tragic yet beautiful, so beautiful in fact that you’ll find yourself just wondering around in it.
The Main Characters, Joel and Ellie have this strange Father/Daughter bond that grows as the story progresses. They both have been through a lot and they will go through a lot more before the story ends.
Don’t turn off your emotions when you play this game, feel and experience all of it like a true gamer.
Uncharted 4
To understand why Uncharted 4 is suitable for consoles you’ll have to play it. The straightforward answer is that it is very movie-like.
That’s right, you’ll hear this a lot from gamers who’ve played the game and aren’t that great at explaining things. The reason people think this game is very similar to a film is that it is a linear game.
Linear Games are not that common with AAA titles these days. You will thoroughly enjoy this game. The dialogues are funny and intriguing, the story is good and the combat keeps you engaged.
PC
The Witcher 3
As you start gaming, you’ll encounter a lot of RPGs. And one day you’ll play your favorite RPG game. The choice is completely personal and I would advise you not to expect everyone to have the same favorite game.
That being said my favorite RPG of all time is the Witcher 3. I do realise that The Witcher 3 is a cross-platform game but playing it on a good PC is just a better experience compared to a Console (especially last gen).
In the game, you play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire who’s looking for his daughter Ciri.
Valorant
Valorant is a comparatively new game yet it has blown everyone away in the First-Person-Shooter market.
CS GO will always be the game that we first associate FPS games with and while that game is has a loyal fanbase, Valorant just offers you more vibrancy.
A very good aim never hurts but one of the most important aspects of this game is the team coordination and callouts. The best to truly kill an enemy is to know where he will be even before he reaches there.
Minecraft
It seemed for a while that Minecraft’s popularity was declining. But out of nowhere there was a resurge in interest (a certain Swedish YouTuber being one of the main factors) and the game was as popular as it’s ever been.
Minecraft is quite literally a game of endless possibilities. There are just so many things that you can do this game that started can be quite overwhelming.
And it is not just a Single Player game. Multiplayer is the other aspect of the game where you can participate in activities such as PvP in Private and Public servers
