Pokemon Legends: Arceus is one of the most hyped Pokemon games of all time. It has the potential to be one of the best Pokemon games ever created. And now that the critics have started giving their scores for this game, we can finally decipher if the game can fulfill its potential or if it is once again a letdown like Pokemon Sword and Shield!
On Metacritic, the game has around 85% score, which isn’t bad for a Pokemon game. Most of the Pokemon titles seem to fall under 80% critic score, so Legends did outperform some of the older Pokemon games. The most prominent critic of the game was its graphics.
Graphics have never been a strong suit of the Pokemon franchise, so we’re overlooking that fact. If you’re a Pokemon fan, the graphics don’t matter as much as the story, and the lore does. And I can gladly say that both these aspects are top-notch. It probably tells the best story since the original main series games and Pokemon Gold/Silver.
The sound and music in the game are surprisingly good and suit the game's scenery very well. Also, the Pokemon company did an excellent job at making the game a little tricky; most of the Pokemon games are so easy that you don’t even have to struggle a bit.
But in Legends, the fights get tough sometimes, and you’re forced to strategize.
The Pokemon experience has been revamped in this game, and every Pokemon fan should give it a try at least once. You’ll surely come back to play once again as it has excellent replay value.
The $60 for Legends Arceus might not be the best use of that money you can check out the TCG, which will literally act as an investment!
