Pokémon Legends: Arceus was truly a breath of fresh air. When the game came out, the Pokémon community was really dissatisfied with Game Freak for not innovating in the main series. Pokémon Sword and Shield sold millions of copies, but there wasn't much that made them stand out besides better graphics.
But Legends: Arceus showed that Game Freak could do a lot more with the limited hardware capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. There were a lot of good points in the game, but there were also areas that lacked polish. We hope to see these improved in future Legends games, which we might get very soon. Without further ado, here are the features we want to see in the next Legends game
What Could Be Improved
- Better Open World: The Hisui region was vast but felt pretty empty. We hope the next game includes more populated and interesting areas, with more Pokémon and activities.
- Story Depth: The story was good, but a bit more complexity would appeal to older players. Splitting the Legends series to focus more on grown-up or teenage-centric stories could greatly improve the narrative.
- Voice Acting: It's 2024—why don't Pokémon games have voice acting? Many games now use AI for dialogue, and adding voice acting would make the games much more engaging.
- AI Use: AI has advanced, and we've seen research where a Pokémon town was made alive by giving each person distinct personalities. This would make the Pokémon world feel very realistic!
- Better Battles: The battle mechanics in Legends were groundbreaking, but they could be built upon to make them more intense and exciting.
These are the features that we feel are worth mentioning. Improvements in graphics, sound, and character design will always come with better hardware, but the features listed might get sidelined. We hope you like our list. If not, what features would you want to see?
